Message from the Director
Having a healthy child is the dream of every married couple. However, there are instances when circumstances prevent the couple from having a child at all. This, in turn, leads to several problems that have to be faced, such as frustration and depression, as well as numerous social problems. Women, especially in our part of the world, have to face the brunt of this issue as most social problems are directed towards them. Having a child is the only way out of this problem, which, by now, would have become a major social stigma for the family. This is where assisted reproduction comes in.
Assisted reproduction is for those couples who want to experience the joy of parenthood. This joy is unmatched. It is unique. It is one of the most wonderful things that life has to offer. This is now achievable through assisted reproduction by either employing one of several individual methods, or via a combination of a few chosen ones.
At SIRM, some of the most tried and tested, as well as the latest and most advanced techniques are employed to give the couple a chance at parenthood. Having a team with years of experience has helped us fully understand the finer intricacies of pregnancy. Coupled with the advancement in science and technology, we have effectively mastered the art of assisted reproduction.
Hence, SIRM has made it its mission to help couples achieve the joys of parenthood. Since its inception in August 2007, SIRM has catered to hundreds of couples.
The purpose of making this website is to increase awareness regarding infertility in Pakistan and around the world, and share knowledge regarding its management and treatment. I am sure that this website will play a key and effective role in general public perception about the field of assisted reproduction and also keep us updated with our field and our colleagues.
I would also use this opportunity to thank Prof S Tipu Sultan, Prof Serajuddaula Syed, Dr Shershah Syed and the rest of the SIRM team for contributing towards SIRM’s dream coming true. All of you have truly been an inspiration throughout this journey.
As always, your constructive feedback is welcome. If you could please jot down ideas and comments and forward them to us over the next few months, we will work through them all.
